Dotma Police in conjunction with Forest Department recover 1.5 lakh worth of timber

Guwahati, December 19, 2018:

Forest department in conjunction with police personnel recovered 140 cubic feet of Sal wood from Nawarbhita in Dotma town. The Sal was nabbed after Dotma police acted on a tip-off and is worth an estimated 1.50 lakhs.

Local residents have alleged that timber is being smuggled through various innovative methods by smugglers from Kokrajhar district areas Fakiragram, Dotma, Chitla, Salfanguri and Bhawraguri to be supplied to Bangladesh.
