The minister was replying to a supplementary query by Samajwadi Party member Javed Ali Khan on whether NRC will be implemented in other states as well after Assam.
Speaking on the topic, Amit Shah said, “At present, the NRC is a part of Assam Accord. The Centre as per its election manifesto – is dedicated to get rid of illegal immigrants from every corner of the country. We will make sure that all the immigrants are deported as per international law.”
It is to be mentioned that the deadline for the publication of NRC set by the Supreme Court of India is July 31. However, many petitions have also been filed for the extension of the deadline for the correction of anomalies and discrepancies in the NRC process.
