Assam former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on Friday slammed Sabananda Sonowal and Bharatiya Janata Party led state government over its failure to safeguard the people of Assam.
Addressing the media, Gogoi said, “We brought back the youth who joined the militant outfit United Liberation Front of Asom- Independent (ULFA-I) but the BJP government’s actions have provoked the youth to join the outfit again. The state Home Ministry has completely failed in it. The CM has appointed security personnel from Bengal; he did not find any personnel from Assam. Some days late, the BJP government appoint new CM from Bihar and Ram Madhav will be our CM. If the ruling government do not scrap down this Bill, we will take over the section 144 CrPC and undergo Jail Bharao activities.”
He added, “The CM has book a helicopter on monthly basis. Himanta Biswa Sarma is talking about 17 constituencies, I am saying let him save 70 constituencies but will he be able to save it bringing the Bangladeshi nationals? The BJP is trying to bring this bill and give citizenship to those who have undergone harassment in the name of religion. But during my 15 years rule, no one complaint of such harassments.”
