Moran: Two men and a woman were arrested in Assam's Chabua and Moran towns on Monday after fake currency notes with a face value of about Rs. 26 lakh were recovered from their possession, police said.
The operation against the counterfeit currency was led by Assam police officer from Chabua Tulumoni Duorah.
Police first made headway in the case after busing a racket at Chabua and seizing fake currency worth around Rs. 2 lakh face value.
"On the basis of their interrogation, police raided their premises at Moran and seized the rest of the currency and one printer", officials said.
The team of police apprehended three persons including one woman associated with printing and circulating the fake currency, officials added.
The trio will be forwarded to judicial custody today.
