Guwahati (Assam), Aug 6 2018:

A team of Assam Police personnel recovered fake Indian currency notes (FICN) worth Rs 53,800 from Boko in Kamrup district on Monday and arrested two persons in this connection.

According to sources, the police team recovered 88 pieces of Rs 500, 34 pieces of Rs 200 and 30 pieces of Rs 100 notes from a person identified as Nabinur Hussain. He was nabbed by the police based on specific inputs from the Boko market.

During his interrogation, he revealed that he was being helped by another youth named Sitjal Haque.

Based on the confession of Nabinur, the police arrested Sitjal from Krishnai in Goalpara district.

The police suspect that the two youths are connected with a big group operating a massive counterfeit currency racket in the region.
