The prime accused of the triple murder case of Kokrajhar has finally been nabbed by the Kokrajhar police.
The accused of the triple murder case has been identified as Sobhananda Barman.
On June 26 night, Tipul Rai (34-year-old), Marami Rai (25-year-old) and their three-year-old daughter were brutally murdered in Kokrajhar’s Mukhi Gaon. However, the six-year-old daughter managed to escape.
The police nabbed the prime accused who hails from Pratapkhata Khejurbari.

Shockingly, the murderer described the execution of the crime during his interrogation.
Speaking to Inside Northeast, DSP Punamjit Nath said, “The accused has confessed his crime and on the night of June 26, he entered the house of Marami and killed her husband Tipul with an iron rod. Marami was alerted and tried to escape from the house but Sobhananda Barman grabbed her and stabbed her with a knife.”
“The accused was in an extramarital affair with the deceased Marami Rai. Apart from that she also had affair with another person, which provoked him to commit the crime. We have taken the accused to the incident spot to get the details of the incident. We have yet to recover the weapon and the bicycle used in the murder. He had explained before us how he executed the crime. Further investigation is on", he added.
