Ferry services between Guwahati and North Guwahati will resume from tomorrow Monday. The decision was taken after the observance of receding water levels of the Brahmaputra River.
Earlier, in view of the rising water level, the Kamrup (Metro) district administration had suspended the ferry services between Guwahati and North Guwahati since September 28.
However, the ropeway was working which heaved a sigh of relief for commuters between Guwahati and North Guwahati.

It may be mentioned that thousands of commuters are dependent on the ferry services who comes to Guwahati everyday for jobs and other business purposes. Taking a ferry is the shortest route as it takes long time to travel by road.
Commuters were having a harrowing time since September 28, the day the ferry services were suspended.
