Fifty thousand youths of Assam to get employment by February next year

Assam Health & Family Welfare, Finance, Education minister Himanta Biswa Sarma Friday informed that his aim is to hand over appointment letters to 50 thousand youths of the state by February 28 next year. Sarma urged the job seekers to co-ordinate with the state government so that everyone gets employment.

Addresing a press conference at Janata Bhawan in Guwahati Sarma announced another ambitious scheme to promote entrepreneurship in the state.Under the Swami Vivekananda Assam Youth Empowerment Yojana (SVAYEM), a chit capital of Rs. 50 thousand will be provided to 2 lakh youths of the state.

The money will be provided to the members of self-help groups or joint liability groups  who have registered before September 1. The members below the age of 40 years and with a minimum qualification of matriculation will be considered as eligible for this scheme.Sarma also stated that Rs. 1,000 crore has been earmarked for this scheme and it will continue in future.
