Guwahati, 16th December, 2019:
Assam’s heartthrob Zubeen Garg on Wednesday joined hands with the All Assam Students Union (AASU) to raise his voice against the controversial Citizenship Bill.
Zubeen Garg teams up with AASU and met the chief adviser of AASU, Samujjal Bhattacharya and AASU general secretary Lurin Jyoti Gogoi at the Swahid Nyas on Wednesday.
“We are not animals. Protest against the Bill will continue. On January 23, we will organise a protest programme at the Latasil. Tomorrow, we will protest in Tezpur,” added Zubeen Garg.
Further Zubeen Garg said,“Since childhood, I have seen politics revolving around Bangladesh. Instead of doing so much drama, why don’t they take over Bangladesh all problems will be solved at once,”.
It may be mentioned that Zubeen Garg slams Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal recently and said that he is ready to refund the remuneration paid by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for the song – Sokolure Ananda Sarbananda – in 2016 during the Assembly elections in Assam.
Speaking exclusively to InsideNE cheif, Chief advisor of AASU Samujjal Bhattacharya said, We will organize a mass gathering on 23rd at Latasil field to pass a strong message to the government that they cannot impose the citizenship bill on Assam.
Illegal immigrants coming and joining the indigenous people of Assam is ridiculous formula, he further added.
