Filing of Nominations for 2nd Phase of Lok Sabha Polls Ends Today

Guwahati, March 26, 2019:

The filing of nominations for the second phase of the ensuing Lok Sabha elections will end today. During the second phase on April 18, 97 Constituencies across the nation, including five in Assam (Karimganj, Silchar, Autonomous district (Dima Hasao & Karbi Anglong), Mangaldai and Nowgong), will head to the polls.

14 candidates from the Phase-II in Assam have submitted the nominations thus far. They are:

Karimganj

1. Radheshyam Biswas – AIUDF
2. Chandan Das – AITMC
3. Swarup Das – INC

Silchar

1. Rajdeep Roy – BJP
2. Sushmita Dev – INC
3. Dilip Kumar – Independent
4. Shyamdeo Kurmi – SUCI

Autonomous District (ST)

1. Biren Sing Ingti – Indian National Congress (INC)
2. Horen Sing Bey – Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)

Mangaldoi

1. Dilip Saikia – BJP
2. Bhubaneswar Kalita – INC
3. Prodeep Kumar Daimary – United People’s Party Liberal
4. Biren Basak – Bharatiya Gana Parishad
