First freight train crosses Bogibeel Bridge

Guwahati, December 3, 2018:
The first freight train ran across the Bogibeel Bridge which is India’s longest road-cum-rail bridge.
The bridge is 4.94 km long 32 metres above the water level of the Brahmaputra that connects Assam with Arunachal Pradesh.
The bridge is designed with double line rail in the lower section and three-lane roads on top.
