First T20I Match Delayed Due to Heavy Rainfall in Guwahati

Guwahati, January 5, 2020:

The first match of the India-Sri Lanka T20I tie has been delayed due to heavy rain in Guwahati. The match was scheduled at 7pm today.

Thousands of spectators had gathered at the Barshapara stadium in Guwahati to support the home team amid the gloomy environment of the Citizenship (Amendment) Act protests and the government’s efforts to garner support for the same. However, the match was delayed due to bad weather. A ground inspection will be carried out at 9 pm.
