ASSAM: 9TH DAY OF FLOOD SITUATION IN THE STATE

The ninth day of the overall flood situation in Assam is improving with 510 numbers of villages in four numbers of districts such as Hojai, Cachar, Hailakandi, and Karimganj, of Assam. The crop areas have been affected in Nagaon and Morigaon in the flood. As of today only Kushiyara at Karimganj (Karimganj) is flowing above danger level.

No Death has been reported in the last 24 hours. Hence, the total death toll in flood remains 18 with a total number of affected population today is 4,86,659. Today, 548 more Persons were rescued from, Hailakandi, by NDRF (National Disaster Response Force) and SDRF (State Disaster Response Force) teams who were engaged into service in the flood affected areas for search and rescue operation.

97 numbers of Relief Camps are operational in Cachar, Karimganj and Hailakandi whereas relief camps were set up in Cachar (37), Karimganj (29), Hailakandi (31), and one in Nagaon with 55,983 inmates and 104 number of Relief Distribution Centres were operated in Karimganj District of Assam.
