GUWAHATI: In a tragic incident, a forest guard passed away Wednesday after he was gored by a one horned rhino at the Kaziranga National Park in Golaghat district.

 

The deceased forest official has been identified as Tipusaran Sahu (51) who was posted at the Kaziranga Range.

 

According to reports, Sahu was attacked by a female rhino with a calf around 5:30 pm near Bokabeel anti-poaching camp.

He was immediately taken to Kohora Model Hospital where doctors declared him dead.

 

Earlier on February 8, a farmer was reportedly gored to death by a rhino while he was way to a paddy field.
