Forest Personnel dies of electrocution in Sonitpur

Tezpur (Assam), September 17, 2018:

A forest guard was electrocuted on Sunday while trying to chase away an elephant herd in Sonitpur.

An official said that the incident took place around the midnight during regular patrolling. The guard identified as Biren Chandra Deka was on regular patrolling duty but unfortunately, he came in contact with a live electric wire that was set to chase away elephants from entering the human inhabited area in Chariduar.

Currently, the officials are investigating the issue and how he exactly came in contact with the live wire.
