GUWAHATI: Former Chief Secretary of Assam Prem Prasad Varma passed away last night.
PP Varma breathed his last at around 1.20 am.
Taking to Twitter state Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma condoled his demise.
"Saddened by the passing away of former Chief Secretary of Assam, Shri PP Varma, IAS. He will be remembered for his administrative acumen, especially his role in the implementation of the BTR Accord. My condolences to the bereaved and prayers for his moksha. Om Shanti!," CM Sarma tweeted.

PP Varma was heading the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) accord implementation committee as Chairperson.
He was a 1978 batch IAS Officer.
He also served as the Additional Chief Secretary, Health and Family Welfare, Social Welfare, and Public Health Engineering Departments, Assam.
