Retired IAS officer MGVK Bhanu has officially joined the Congress Party today and was welcome by Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Ripun Bora and other members of the party.
A party-joining programme was been organized at the Rajiv Bhawan. It is to be mentioned that Bhanu’s joining of the Congress does not come as a surprise as he has always been a blue-eyed boy of former Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi.
Addressing the gathering at the programme, Bhanu said that he had come to the state in 1985 and worked for thirty years and stated that in all his years of service, he has not felt like an outsider in the state.
“I am an Assamese and I don’t want to go back as I want to work for Assam,” he said, expressing his love for the state where he has spent much of his service career.
