Mani Madhav Mahanta is the younger brother of Minister Keshav Mahanta. Nearly 2000 AGP workers took out a massive rally to welcome Moni Madhav Mahanta in the party.

Joining the party, Mahanta said, “I feel lucky to get a chance to join the AGP.” He mentioned that the senior leaders of the party have sacrificed their respective ministerial positions to protect the identity of the indigenous people of Assam and held a strong stand against the contentious Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016. I will be working for the development of the state.”
