A FRACTION OF BJP LEADERS IN SUPPORT OF ABSU: HAGRAMA MOHILARY

A sensational statement by Bodoland People's Front(BPF) chief , Hagrama Mohilary has lead to many apprehensions in the state.

Mohilary stated that a fraction of the leaders from the BJP-led government is hand in gloves with All Bodoland student's Union (ABSU). He stated this while addressing it in the Mushalpur area of Baksa. He also stated that the on-going Road blockade protest at National Highway by ABSU for demand of a separate Boda state is facilitated by the leading BJP party. Such a peaceful conduction of the protest provided with all the eateries is possible only due to the support of BJP. He suspects that it is nothing but the conspiracy of the BJP party to wane the power of BPF. He spoke sternly that such a step could never diminish the power the of BPF.

Mohilary stated that without the encouragement of BJP such a protest would have never surfaced. He raised a question which got the people thinking too as had the protest been conducted by a Bengali outfit or some Muslim outfit,  would not the Government have inflicted lathi charge against the protestors, or would have remained a silent spectator like now. Such a statement has lead to apprehension of BJP's support for a separate Bodo state. Sources also lead to the suspecting of Government’s intention to accord BTC the status of Union territory,  if not a full fledged state.
