Gauhati University issues notification for GURET 2020; Check the details here

Guwahati: The Gauhati University authorities have intimated that the Research Eligibility Test (GURET) 2020 shall be conducted using OMR sheet in offline mode following COVID-19 protocols.

As per a notification issued by the Academic Registrar of the University, the schedule of the GURET shall be notified on November 9, which will be held on November 21-22.

The notification further stated that the date and timing of the examinations for different subjects will be decided based on the number of candidates in a subject.

The admit card for the GURET 2020 shall be available online from November 14, 2020.

The marking pattern of the GURET 2020:

The question paper will contain 100 Multiple Choice Questions. For each correct answer, 4 marks will be awarded and for each wrong answer 1 marks will be deducted.

The Academic Registrar's notification further states that no marks will be deducted for unanswered questions.

How long will the GURET 2020 exam last?

The duration of the GURET 2020 will be 2 hours.

The Gauhati University's new academic calendar 2020:

In view of the ongoing COVID-19 crisis and the delay in the examinations, the prestigious Gauhati University of Assam recently issued a new academic calendar for 2020-21 and 2021-22 sessions.

According to the calendar, the UG and PG admission process would be completed within October 31. The classes for UG odd semesters in the affiliated colleges and GU campus will commence from November 1.
The PG third semester classes in the affiliated colleges and GU campus would take place from November 1.

However, PG first semester classes in the affiliated colleges and GU campus would begin from November 1.
