Ahead of India's Independence Day celebrations on August 15, a grenade has been recovered on Sunday in Golaghat district of Assam.
As per reports, the grenade was recovered from Sanjib Gogoi’s tea factory located near the National Highway-39. The incident came into light when a worker working inside the factory noticed the grenade and informed the police.
On being informed, the police reached the site and have taken the grenade to the police
station. Investigation is underway.
It is to be mentioned that the state security has been tightened ahead of the Independence Day celebration.
Meanwhile, a handmade bomb has been recovered from Sukhuwarjhar area in Barpeta district of Assam in an operation launched by the Barpeta police.
The bomb was kept hidden under a pile of hay. It was recovered from the house of Kamal Uddin.
On the other hand, another youth from Assam has been apprehending due to his alleged connection to Jihadi groups. The youth in question, a certain Mustafizur Rahman, was picked up near his residence at Chatala in Barpeta district.
