Guwahati lawyer arrested for allegedly biting lady during Diwali 2020 celebrations

GUWAHATI: In a bizarre incident reported from Assam's Guwahati city, a man has been arrested for allegedly biting a lady while Diwali 2020 celebrations were going on. The incident took place on Sunday -- when the Diwali celebrations were on in full swing.

According to reports, Abhishek Misra -- who has claimed to be a lawyer -- bit a lady during a scuffle in Guwahati's Silpukhri area.

According to reports, a brawl broke up after Misra parked his vehicle near an apartment building, to which the residents of the building took affront. Chaos broke out after the residents of the building raised a hue and cry and in the scuffle that followed, Misra ended up biting a woman.

Following this, the lady's family members lodged a complaint at the nearby Police Station in Chandmari.

Confirming this development to Inside Northeast, Guwahati's Commisioner of Police Munna Prasad Gupta has said, "All we can confirm right now that the man had reportedly bitten the woman. We took cognizance of the complaint and the offender has been arrested. Further investigations are underway."
