Guwahati roadside vendor pays the price for contaminating food with urine

GUWAHATI: An unidentified street vendor has been arrested after a sensational video in which he mixed his urine with water that he used to wash his dishes started doing the rounds on social media.

In the video that has spread like wildfire, the vendor can be seen discreetly urinating into a mug before proceeding to scoop up water in the same mug and putting it in a basket full of water -- presumably used for the washing of dishes.

According to reports, the vendor sells street food in the Athgaon area of the city.

Talking to Inside NE, Guwahati police commissioner Harmeet Singh said that the vendor had circulated the video on social media himself.

"The video is an old one...was shot about 7-8 days back. Action has been taken against him. the vendor himself released the video."
