Guwahati will soon get electric buses

Speaking at a conclave on electric mobility at Assam Administrative Staff College on Friday, the managing director of Assam State Transport Corporation (ASTC), Anand Prakash Tiwari, informed that 15 electric buses would run across Guwahati soon.

He said although 15 such buses would ply initially, the department has plans to include 30 more buses in the second phase under a policy called ‘FAME’. He said the tendering process for procurement of 400 electric buses on gross contract model would be floated.
