Guwahati, April 4, 2020:

The Guwahati resident who was declared COVID-19 positive late on Friday night has sent shockwaves among the Assam Health department officials after they learnt of his travel as well as contact history.

The man, Manish Tibrewal, a resident of the city’s poshest apartment, Spanish Garden, came from Delhi on March 1 and health officials now fear that he might have come in contact with thousands from then until Friday night.

According to reports, Manish Tibrewal (45) is a businessman by profession. He developed the coronavirus symptoms much later and only on April 3, he was declared positive of COVID-19. The screening team of Gauhati Medical College & Hospital (GMCH) has also come under the scanner since they skipped his quarantine phase despite the travel history.

The Spanish Garden resident had since March 1 attended his office until lockdown on March 22. Reports say that he was active till April 1 and only after that he developed fever and breathlessness. This has further sent shockwaves among the health officials since the incubation period of the coronavirus, in this case, was more than 14 days.

Meanwhile, authorities have sealed Guwahati’s poshest apartment, Spanish Garden, located in the Zoo Road following the positive case of COVID-19.
