Hagrama distributes tractors to farmers

Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) chief Hagrama Mohilary on Saturday distributed 15 tractors to beneficiaries of 15 villages of Kokrajhar district under a government scheme.

Addressing a gathering, Hagrama said: “Every farmer in the village has the full right on this tractor”. He also said that altogether 496 tractors would be distributed to farmers in Kokrajhar district. The overall number of tractors to be distributed to farmers across BTC will be 1,550, he added.

Minister Pramila Rani Brahma, who was also present at the programme, said: “The farmers’ income has increased and as such, only one tractor is being given in every village”.
