Hailakandi DC directs to step up measles rubella campaign

Guwahati (Assam), 4 August 2018

Hailakandi Deputy Commissioner Adil khan has directed health authorities to step up the campaign on measles rubella on social media and hold a media sensitization workshop.

According to official sources, over 2.16 lakh children, aged between 9 months and 15 years, will be vaccinated across four block public health centers and post-partum centre (urban). The sources said 1,486 school session sites, 649 outreach sites, 15 fixed session sites in hospitals and 49 special camps in high risk areas have been identified.

“Altogether 211 vaccinators, 1,273 ASHA/AWWs and 87 supervisors will be pressed into service for the campaign. A control room has been set up, manned by health officials and functionaries, to deal with any adverse event following immunization (AEFI) cases,” the sources added.
