Hailakandi DC orders expediting road construction works

Guwahati (Assam), Aug 6 2018:

Hailakandi deputy commissioner (DC) Adil Khan on Monday directed PWD (Rural Roads) officials to expedite repairing works of Samarikona-Kalacherra, Silchar-Hailakandi and Algapur-Mohonpur roads.

Khan also instructed the officials to complete the construction of Lala Circle Office, Algapur Circle Office and renovation of Kalinagar PHC and various other government buildings by September this year.

The DC further asked the department to make a survey of the condition of government buildings, including schools, in the district and submit a report to him.

Meanwhile, Khan directed Water Resources, Hailakandi Division officials to submit a report on breaches and other flood protection works immediately.

Officials informed the DC that FIRs have been filed against those involved in cutting of embankments.
