Heavy rains and storm hit Guwahati city of Assam

Guwahati, March 31, 2019:

Heavy rain has lashed Guwahati city of Assam in the afternoon on Sunday. The downpour began at around 12 noon and the skies immediately darkened and thunder could be heard.

The rain was also accompanied by strong gusts of wind which left pedestrians scampering for cover.

It is to be mentioned that the city was hit by a similar kind of rain-cum storm on Tuesday.

Footage shows that a similar kind of atmosphere prevailed in Kokrajhar in Assam.

Heavy rain is still pelting the roofs and streets of Guwahati at the time of filing this report. It may be mentioned that similar weather has been witnessed across the Northeastern part of India.

Loss of life and property is yet to be reported.
