GUWAHATI: Assam Police in continuation of its war against drugs arrested two persons today along with a huge amount of contraband heroin from Assam's Karbi Anglong.
According to reports, Police recovered the contraband heroin from a public bus coming from Manipur.
The seized heroin includes 48 soap boxes containing 584 gms of heroin.
The recovered heroin is estimated to be worth Rs 4 crores.
The bus with the contraband heroin was intercepted at Laharijan PP Naka.
According to police, Lutfur Rahman, IC, Laharijan, PP, and other personnel set up a checking post in front of the Laharijan patrolling post while the bus carrying contraband heroin coming from Manipur was intercepted.
As per reports, the heroin was hidden in two rice bags.

The arrested persons have been identified as --Irengbam Kokil (35) and Irengbam Babu Singha (32), reports suggest.
"48 soap boxes containing 584 gms of Heroin recovered from a bus, coming from another state, and intercepted at Laharijan PP Naka. Two accused have been apprehended during the operation. Commendable work by ">@assampolice . Keep up the good work," State Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted.
