In a highest spike, 3555 new COVID-19 cases detected in Assam

A total of 3555 new COVID-19 cases were detected on Wednesday in Assam. 47744 tests were done in the last 24 hours. Out of the 3555 cases, Kamrup (Metro) reported 924 cases, Nagaon 236, Dibrugarh 213 and Baksa 200.

1834 recovered patients were discharged on Wednesday. Active cases in the state reached 26227 while 88726 patients have recovered so far from the disease. The total number of people infected with the deadly virus in the state have reach 115279.

Assam recorded eight more coronavirus deaths on Wednesday, taking the death toll to 323.The names of the deceased are: Shakuntala Sen aged 63, Kajal Dutta aged 66, Wahida Rahman aged  60, Madhabi Bhattacharjee aged 75, Jamir Uddin aged 60, Prabhat Chandra Bora aged 82, Bulu Devi aged 69 and Prafulla Sagariya aged 72.
