Guwahati, May 7, 2019:

In a latest sensational incident, a convoy carrying Assam Finance Minister and NEDA Chief Himanta Biswa Sarma by allegedly attacked by Trinamool Congress goons.

The BJP has said that a convoy carrying West Bengal's party President Dilip Ghosh was attacked at Khejuri in Paschim Medinipur this evening.

Sources have said that two cars were completely destroyed by the TMC workers and they proceeded to gherao the convoy from all sides.

At 8:04 pm on Tuesday, Biswa Sarma tweeted out that the convoy is stuck at Khejuri which falls under the Kanthi Lok Sabha Constituency.

"Many of our workers are injured even as Mamata Banerjee's goons gheraoing and abusing us", he wrote.

He later posted again on Twitter and wrote: "The CRPF personnel are helping us to gradually move away from here. Three BJP Bengal workers are taken away by Trinamool Congress goons in front of police / Kultha Bazar, under PS Khejuri and kept in TMC union office. Goons have damaged 20+ motorbikes.

It may be mentioned that the convoy was returning from an Amit Shah-headed meeting at Paschim Medinipur.
