Guwahati, January 24, 2019:

"I am Hindu, I am Indian." - Himanta Biswa Sarma

After the ‘Bajra Ninad’ (thunderous voice) protest against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill rocked Assam yesterday, the BJP high command provided their rebuttal to the mass protest at the Panchayat elections victory felicitation program held at the Sarusajai playground in Guwahati. In a shocking development, Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, while delivering a rousing speech, admitted that he won’t be a part of the political sphere of Assam post-2021 as cries of ‘Bharat Maata ki Jai’ and ‘Jai Shri Ram’ replaced those of ‘Aaah oi aah’ (come hey come) which were heard at the ‘Bajra Ninad’.

"But for the sake of the jati, these poem reciters and milk feeders will be identified and we will give them the Last battle of Panipat till the last breath of air is left in my lungs", said Biswa Sarma, slamming the 'Bajra Ninad' demonstrators.

Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma took to the stage to enumerate the various achievements of the BJP government as well as lay the agenda for upcoming days.

Embracing the spirit of Hindutwavadi which has become the backbone of the BJP’s ruling policy, the Finance Minister also had harsh words for protestors of the Bill and mocked the crowd size of the ‘Bajra Ninad’, claiming that only 2,500 people can fit inside the Latasil playground, whereas a much larger number was quoted by the news media.

He assured that the BJP government will work towards turning Assam into one of the highly developed states in the nation and the main agenda of the BJP is the eradication of poverty.

Biswa Sarma also stressed on the need for a ‘cultural nationalism’, a national renaissance of sorts and rediscovery of nationhood if the country is to become one of the leading superpowers.

He also attributed the seepage of BJP rule to the remotest of areas of Assam to the leadership qualities of CM Sonowal and PM Modi and added that Sonowal will be renowned as a ‘Jatiya Mahanayak’ after the Bill is passed and that people of the state will thank him for time immemorial.

Once against, Himanta Biswa Sarma took digs at the ‘Bajra Ninad’ and reiterated his question that why protest when the protestors could sing instead and contribute something of value to Assam a la Zubeen Garg and Bhupen Hazarika? He also made fun of 15 journalists for running after 3 black flag protestors to capture footage.

He also stated how the satras, Assamese socio-religious-cultural centres, are being affected by the demographic replacement facilitated by an endless stream of illegal Muslim-Bangladeshi immigration into the state.

It is to be mentioned that FIRs have been lodged against the Finance Minister due to his allegedly communal and discriminatory statements.
