Himanta Biswa Sarma visits house of Chhattisgarh Naxal ambush martyr Dilip Kumar Das

SARUPETA: After visiting the house of martyred Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan Bablu Rabha, Assam health and family welfare, finance and education minister Himanta Biswa Sarma today met the family members of martyred CRPF inspector Dilip Kumar Das.

Sarma paid rich tributes to the martyr and offered his condolences to the bereaved family members of Das at his residence at Sarupeta in Barpeta district.

The minister was accompanied by Lok Sabha MP from Tezpur Pallab Lochan Das and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state vice-president Pulok Gohain.

Dilip Kumar Das was an inspector with the 210 battalion of the CRPF. He joined the force in 2001 and was posted in Chhattisgarh at the time of his death.

It may be mentioned that in one of the deadliest Naxal attacks, at least 22 security personnel lost their lives in Chhattisgarh‘s Bijapur district on April 3.

Out of the total 22 fatalities, the CRPF lost eight men, including seven commandos of the CoBRA (CRPF’s elite unit) and one jawan of the Bastariya battalion. Eight of the other deceased were from the District Reserve Guard (DRG) and six from the Special Task Force (STF).
