GUWAHATI: BJP star campaigner and candidate for Jalukbari constituency Himanta Biswa Sarma will attend his first election campaign rally in his own constituency on the last day of campaign today.
Union home minister Amit Shah, BJP national president JP Nadda and Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal will also address the rally at Sualkuchi under Jalukbari constituency around 3.15pm.
Campaign for the 3rd and last phase of Assam assembly election will end at 6 pm today.

BJP leader Sarma has been winning the Assembly seat of Jalukbari continuously since 2001.
In the 2001, 2006 and 2011 assembly elections, Sarma was elected to the assembly as a Congress candidate. He was elected as BJP member in 2016.
Amid his hectic campaign schedule, Sarma had to undergo a daylong hiatus due to an Election Commission imposed restriction yesterday. He resumed campaign with a massive road show here last evening.

Nicknamed fondly Mama by the youth, Sarma has been a huge hit in the Assam assembly elections campaign this time. His road shows and bicycle rallies have drawn the strongest crowds across the length and breadth of the state.
