GUWAHATI: As many as 7,226 persons have received Learner's License through the online process in the first week of its launch itself.
Now you can get one too sitting at home by just going through the following process.
1. Go to the government portal for transport - https://transport.assam.gov.in/how-to/apply-for-learners-license
2. The applicant must be 18 years of and for driving a transport vehicle one must be 21 years of age. But a person attaining the age of 16 years can drive a motorcycle with an engine capacity not exceeding 50CC in a public place.

3. Applicants must furnish -
A. Ration Card
B. Electoral Roll
C. Life Insurance Policy
D. Pay Slip issued by any State or Central Govt. body
E. Self swearing affidavit by an applicant before an Executive Magistrate or a 1st Class Judicial Magistrate or a Notary Public as evidence of address
Age Proof Documents
(i) Birth Certificate
(ii) School Certificate
(iii) Certificate granted by a registered Medical practitioner not below the rank of a Civil Surgeon, as to the age of the applicant.
(iv) Pay Slip issued by any State or Central Govt. body
The learner’s licence is valid for a period of six months.
