“If BJP don’t wake up after protests, they are traitors to country”: Tarun Gogoi

Guwahati, January 15, 2019:

The people of Assam celebrated the auspicious occasion of Bhogali Bihu with grace by setting the Meji on flames. Along with their fellow Assamese, members of Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) came together to celebrate Bihu at Manabendra Complex, Guwahati.

The event was graced by former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, current Congress President Ripun Borah, Chaygoan MLA Rekibuddin Ahmed and also other members of the Congress party.

Tarun Gogoi expressed his gratitude towards the people of Assam on the occasion of Bhogali Bihu. Gogoi further cemented his strong opposition against the citizenship (amendment) bill, 2016. Taking a dig at current CM, the 'Jatiya Nayak' Sarbandanda Sonowal, he added that the Chief Minister is weak and is controlled by Himanta Biswa Sarma and Chandra Mohan Patowary.

“The BJP leaders are not able to celebrate Bihu in public. If they still don’t wake up after this, it is to be understood that they are not simply selfish, but rather, they are traitors to the country”, Gogoi stated.

Gogoi also assured the people of Assam that the team of APCC will stand with the people of Assam against their continued protests against the very controversial Citizenship Bill.
