Diphu, March 4, 2019:

The second day of a drive to evict alleged illegal Bangladeshi settlers is underway at Langkaijan area of Karbi Anglong. The Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) CEM Tuliram Ronghang has launched the drive in the Karbi Anglong-Hojai areas. As per reports, the alleged Bangladeshis have constructed 1,672 houses at Langkaijan and Pranprilangso, out of which a total of 554 houses were evicted on the second day.

Talking to InsideNE, CEM Tuliram Ronghang said: “An eviction drive will be carried out until all the illegal settlers in the area ware drive out from the land. Not a single inch of land will be allowed to be encroached upon by suspected illegal migrants from Bangladesh.

KAAC EMs Amorsing Tisso, Karbi Anglong along with police superintendent Gaurav Upadhayay, ARO Tarun Ingti along with other important figures attended the eviction drive.
