Iman Sonowal and Suzen Burhagohain champions at 'All Assam Inter District & Open Badminton Championship'

GUWAHATI: Iman Sonowal and Suzen Burhagohain emerged as the champions in the men's and women's categories, respectively, at the 68th Yonex Sunrise All Assam Inter District & Open Badminton Championship held in Guwahati which officially came to an end on February 14 last.

While Sonowal, hailing from Tinsukia, beat Guwahati-based Orijit Chaliha, Burhagohain defeated Chimran Kalita of Guwahati.

While Navyaranjan Das won the boys' under-19 trophy, Isha Rani Baruah walked away with the trophy on the girls' side.

While the winners took home cash prizes of Rs. 10,000 each, the Runners-ups got Rs. 8,000. The trophies and cash awards were given out by former international badminton player Mallika Barua Sarma.
