Indian Army conducts recruitment rally for women from Northeast

GUWAHATI: For the second consecutive year, the Indian Army, Recruiting Zone (Army) at Shillong is conducting recruitment rally exclusively for Women Candidates at Narengi, Military Station Guwahati. The step has been taken in order to given an impetus to Women empowerment & enhancing the role of women in Indian Army.

The recruitment began on Thursday and will be held till December 20 this year. The rally is for woman candidates from all Northeastern States ( Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Tripura, Mizoram, Sikkim) in addition to West Bengal, & Orissa.

The State Administration and the Army Authorities have put their hands together to make the recruitment rally successful.

The Indian Army conducted the first ever recruitment rally exclusively for women for enrolment into Soldier (General Duty) category as ‘Women Military Police’ for the northeastern region in Shillong in the year 2019.
