Guwahati, March 15, 2019:

The Chindits Battalion of Red Horns Division of Indian Army dedicated a Community Hall in the village of Dakhin Chubury in Baksa district of Assam to the local public.

The community hall was constructed by the unit under operation Sadbhavna, the goodwill initiative of Indian Army and is expected to provide a platform for social and cultural meetings and events for the village.

As a part of continuing efforts towards altering the perception of local population towards the security forces in the insurgency-hit region, the Indian Army regularly undertakes community building projects to promote and propagate cohesion in the social fabric of the region and its symbiosis with the armed forces. This project was one such attempt at bringing a small but meaningful change in the life of a few villagers.

The community hall building was dedicated on behalf of the Indian Army by Brig Gaurav Rishi, SC, SM, the commander of the Invictus Brigade under the Red Horns Division, in a ceremony attended by almost 200 people from in and around the neighbouring villages of Dakhin Chubury.
