Kokrajhar, 8th May:
The army* unit at Kokrajhar district of Assam and district police launched a joint operation on bases of the input received about KLO (Kamtapur Liberation Organisation) Recruitment Module operational in Chakrasila Reserve forest. This successful Operation resulted in busting of the KLO Recruitment racket and Seven dreaded KLO Cadres were caught.
The Recruitment was being done by most wanted cadre Lankeshwar Koch also known as Lambu, Myanmar trained Self Styled Second lieutenant and Area Commander of Lower ASSAM, along with four Bangladesh trained and two locally trained cadres. The prime target of recruitment was unemployed & uneducated youth. These cadres were caught when they came to attend a meeting inside the forest.

A huge quantity of weapons and warlike stores were recovered from the militants which include a total of 07 Pistols.
The apprehension of 7 cadres and busting of recruitment racket has given a severe blow to the anti-social motives of KLO which has been trying hard to gain importance after the surrender of NDFB. The operation of this magnitude & coordinated efforts of police & armed forces will help in lowering the morale of these organization and put them on the back foot and ensure peace in Kokrajhar.
