Japanese Exchange Student Found Dead in IIT Guwahati

Guwahati, November 22, 2019:

Kota Onada, an intern from Japan, was found hanging in his hostel bathroom on Thursday. The Japanese exchange student, who was part of a 3-month internship course, was slated to return to his home country on November 30.

According to reports, the Japanese student was found hanging from the hostel room ceiling at around 3 pm. His body was reportedly discovered after his friends tried to call him, but his phone was switched off. When they visited his hostel, he was discovered hanging, dead.

Preliminary investigation suggests that Onada's death was a suicide case. Onada's friends have revealed that he was not behaving "unnaturally" in the hours leading upto his death. A post-mortem is being conducted today to determine the cause behind his death.
