JEE (Main) 2020 begins today despite protests across the country

The Joint Entrance Examinations (JEE) has begun across India for the admissions in Indian Institutes of Technology on Tuesday.  The examinations are being conducted with necessary precautions  amid COVID-19 despite protests by students across the country.

Before entering the examination hall, students were provided with sanitizers and their temperature was also checked.

Meanwhile, at the time of entering the halls, announcements were made to the students asking them to maintain social distancing and other COVID-19 protocols.

Even in Kolkata, candidates appearing for the exam were seen standing in queues while abiding by the social distancing norm at TCS Gitobitan.

The Nagpur bench of the Bombay High Court has also instructed centers to conduct the exams. However, it further mentioned that the students who are affected by flood and are unable to appear in the exams may apply to the appropriate authority- National Testing Agency (NTA).

According to reports, the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test will be held on the 13th of this month.
