Jorhat: Covid-induced curfew to remain effective round the clock

JORHAT: Covid- induced  Curfew in Jorhat district of Assam is to remain effective round the clock according to a revised SoP (Standard operating Procedure) released by the District Disaster Management Authority.

The new SOP has come into effect from 4 am this morning and shall remain effective in the district until further order.

As per the revised notification, openings of shops, businesses, and commercial establishments, functioning of both government and private offices will remain closed during the period.

Both the outside dine and takeaway of food items from restaurants, dhabas, and other eateries will remain closed during the period.

All religious institutions will remain closed until further notice.

While cold storage will be open for only maintenance purposes up to 1 pm, the opening of the sales counter, showrooms, and shopping malls will remain closed.

E-commerce services will be allowed up to 3 p.m.

Retail shops dealing with groceries, fruits, vegetables, and animal food will be open from 8 am to 3 pm. Meanwhile, wholesale dealing with groceries will be open from 4 am to 3 pm.

On the other hand, medical stores for both humans and animals, and milk booths will remain operational for 14 hours.

Furthermore, the notification stated that the above relaxation was allowed only in adherence to COVID-19 protocols, and any breach will result in action under specific provisions of applicable acts and regulations.
