The Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) on Tuesday has announced hold its meeting again on November 27 on the controversial Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016.
JPC chairman Rajendra Agrawal said that a notice will be circulated among the members of the committee on the bill and convened the much hyped meeting over the controversial Bill at the Parliament House.
Reportedly, many of the members of the 30 members committee did not receive any prior notification regarding the amendment. So the committee has decided to sit again on November 27 and they will sit for the final call on December 6.
It may be mentioned that a delegation called on JPC chairman Agrawal and member Swapan Dasgupta and reiterated their protest against the Bill.
The delegation included leaders-Atul Bora, Keshav Mahanta, Phanibhushan Choudhury, Birendra Prasad Baishya and Ramendra Narayan Kalita attended the meeting.
