Khelo India: Assam’s Surajit Borgohain Wins Gold in Lawn Bowls

Guwahati, January 15, 2020:

Assam has bagged another Gold with Surajit Borgohain’s win in the Lawn Bowls game at the ongoing Khelo India Youth Games 2020 in Guwahati.

While Surajit Borgohain won Gold in the under-21 Lawn Bowls game, Jinu and Karina won bronze for Assam in the under-21 Girls’ Doubles event.

Players Adinita Kakati, Suman Kumari Pandey and Suranjana Baruah also marked their positions in the Lawn Bowls Girls’ Triples event.

Lawn Bowl players Shiv Mahanta, Sanzio Pandey, Roktim Kashyap Kalita, and Abhilekh Handique claimed Gold in the Boys’ Four event.

 It may be mentioned here that Assam is in the 13th position in the Khelo India Tally while Haryana topped the chart.

Earlier, Assam’s Gangotri Bordoloi, Chayanika Gogoi, Akshay Boro, Puja Basumatary had won Gold, Bronze, and Silver in cycling, run and judo respectively.

The latest win has come in the Individual Pursuit event from Assam in Cycling, wherein Rimanju Ray won bronze in the under-17 category.

Meanwhile, the Silver has been clinched by Tanvi Chopra from Delhi Public School, RK Puram, in the under-21 Girls’ Doubles event.
