Khelo India Games: Assam Boy Akshay Boro Bags Silver in 200m Run

Guwahati, January 14, 2020:

Assam boy Akshay Boro has bagged Silver in the 200 meters run under-17 category in the ongoing Khelo India Youth Games 2020 held in Guwahati.

17-year-old Boro hails from Chaygaon and is a student of HS First year. Assam has bagged three Gold, one Silver and five Bronze medals in the Khelo India Games since January 10. While Haryana has topped the chart in the medals’ list, Assam has occupied the 13th rank.

Earlier, Gangotri Bordoloi had bagged a Gold medal in cycling. She won Gold in the 60-km section. Another cyclist, Chayanika Gogoi bagged Bronze in the same 60-km category.

Puja Basumatary from Assam had on Sunday become the first Assamese to bag a gold in the Games after she finished atop the podium in the the 57 kg category in Judo.

The third edition of Khelo India Youth Games 2020 is being held in Guwahati’s Sarusajai Stadium.
