GUWAHATI: Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) has extended its support to the nationwide 'Chakka Bandh' that will be observed on February 6.
"The KMSS extends its support to the chakka bandh called by the Samkyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) with the demand to roll back the government's anti-farmer bills, revised electricity tariff bill, and the anti-people budget," said a release issued by the publicity wing of the peasant organization.
Meanwhile, the organization's leaders Dhaijya Konwar, Mukut Deka, and Raju Bora jointly dashed off a memorandum to the government urging it to repeal the "black laws."

"The Prime Minister Modi led government has introduced the Bills in order to privatize the agriculture sector; once they are enacted, the farmers of the nation will be at the mercy of corporates," the KMSS charged in its communique.
The protesting kisan unions have called for a nationwide ‘chakka jam’ on Saturday blocking all roads across the country. The mega rally has been called against the internet ban by the Centre, as well as in response to Monday’s Budget 2021 that “ignored” the demands of farmers.
Anticipating violence, the Delhi Police has beefed up security, deployed additional forces at borders, studded iron nails on the roads and built walls for barricading to keep the farmers out of the national capital.
Highways and roads would be blocked between 12 noon and 3 pm on Saturday, February 6, the farmers' leaders have announced.
