Guwahati, December 9, 2018:

Leader of Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS), Akhil Gogoi, and representatives of 70 organizations on Sunday staged an indefinite hunger strike against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi.

Along with the protestors from Assam, politician Yogendra Yadav also participated in the strike.

Talking to media persons, Gogoi said they would continue their protest against the bill. He urged the National Alliance of People’s Movements (NAPM) to join the movement against the controversial bill.

Gogoi accused the BJP-RSS of trying to establish a Hindutva country through this bill. He, however, warned that the protesting groups would never let this to happen.
